Product Care and FAQ

Product Care Instructions

Candles

  • Always trim your candle wick to ¼ inch before lighting.
  • If your wick becomes ‘mushroomed’; extinguish the candle immediately, trim the wick and relight the candle.
  • We recommend you burn your candle for 3-4 hours on the first burn to ensure an even melt pool. Do not burn this candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Take care if moving the candle jar during or after burning as the jar may become hot.
  • Only burn this candle on a level, draught-free and fire resistant surface.
  • Never leave a lit candle unattended.
  • Burn all candles out of the reach of children or pets.
  • Store all candles safely out of the reach of children or pets.

Tea Lights

  • All tea lights should only be used in a suitable and damage-free tea light holder, on a level, draught-free and fire resistant surface.
  • Do not use these tea lights in wax burners or melters.
  • Never leave a lit tea light unattended.
  • Burn all tea lights out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not move a tea light during or shortly after burning as the aluminium casing will become hot and the wax may spill.
  • Do not refill or reuse a used casing.
  • Store all candles safely out of the reach of children or pets.

Wax Melts

  • All wax melts should only be used in a suitable and damage-free wax burner or melter, on a level, draught-free and fire resistant surface.
  • Only use 4 hour, un-fragranced tea lights if using a wax burner. Do not use tea lights that burn for more than 4 hours, or fragranced tea lights.
  • Never leave a tea light or electric wax burner or melter unattended.
  • Use all wax melts out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Store all candles safely out of the reach of children or pets.

Some of my products have marks on the wax, what is that?

At Fae Candle Co. we use 100% pure soy wax, which is one of the major culprits for ‘frosting’. This is a completely normal part of using soy wax products and does not impact the quality or fragrance of a candle at all.

Our candles are ‘topped’ before sending to try and minimise this, which means applying a heat gun finish to ensure that all imperfections are smoothed out. Due to the size and make up of tea lights and wax melts, this is not possible to do with these product types.
